Gandalf is, by far, my favorite Tolkien character (and a fellow INTJ), and his pre-Middle-Earth history has always fascinated me. So I decided to draw what I thought he might have looked like as a Maia. And what better model to use than a young Ian McKellen? Because... come on. Ian McKellen IS Gandalf.

Gandalf/Olórin/Mithrandir/etc. belongs to Tolkien. Duh.
